Frequently Asked Questions
Learn more about what to expect, how the Tensegrity process works, and what to know before booking your first appointment.
Getting Started
-
Most new clients should begin with an initial assessment. This gives the Tensegrity team time to review your concerns, health history, movement, and muscle function before recommending the best next step.
-
The initial assessment is designed to get a detailed picture of how your body is functioning. It may include discussion of your health history, current concerns, range of motion, joint function, pain, and muscle performance so your care plan can be based on what is actually happening.
-
If you are unsure where to begin, start with the initial assessment or contact the lab with questions before scheduling. A complimentary 15-minute phone call may also be available for prospective clients who want to learn more before booking.
-
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily and makes it possible to evaluate the area being assessed. If your appointment requires anything more specific, the team can provide instructions before your visit.
Services & Care
-
Tensegrity Biomechanics Lab offers corrective exercise, nutrition coaching, and medical massage. Depending on your needs, your plan may focus on one service or combine multiple approaches.
-
Yes. Medical massage can be booked as a standalone service when appropriate, although new clients may still benefit from an assessment so treatment can be more targeted and informed.
-
Yes. Medical massage may help address pain, restriction, and overworked muscles, while corrective exercise can help improve strength, coordination, and movement patterns. When appropriate, the two can work together as part of a broader plan.
-
No. Nutrition coaching can support a range of goals, including energy, muscle health, recovery, body composition, and long-term wellness. Recommendations are personalized rather than built around a single goal or standard diet.
Who We Help
-
No. Some clients come in because they are dealing with pain or recovering from an injury, while others want to improve movement, address imbalances, or stay strong and active as they age.
-
Yes. Tensegrity’s approach is especially well suited for people who want to stay active, maintain strength and mobility, and protect their long-term physical independence as they age.
-
No. Tensegrity is not a physical therapy clinic. The practice focuses on detailed assessment, medical massage, corrective exercise, nutrition coaching, and long-term movement health.
-
That depends on your goals, current condition, and how your body responds to care. Tensegrity focuses on measurable progress and helping clients develop the tools they need to maintain their results rather than following a predetermined treatment schedule.
